My research interests mostly focus on how climate extremes on both regional and global scales are changing, and how they impact on society.

Specific research interests include interannual climate variations associated with warm and cold events, wet and dry episodes, high latitude climates, and changes in circulation.

I have particular interest as the spread to society in general the updated results of our science. That’s why I have participated in numerous outreach activities about various issues, especially climate change, at public and private spheres.

I have given a number of presentations on climate change and global warming to community and specialists groups. I am Coordinating Lead Author of the IPCC 5th Assessment Report  WGI. I was Lead Author of the 4th. Assessment Report of the IPCC, in WGI chapter 3, the Summary for Policy Makers and the Technical Summary, also, I have been a member of the core writing team of the Synthesis Report, joining the contributions of the three Working Groups reports.
